At Pianote, it’s our mission to spread the love of the piano and music around the world, empowering our students to develop musical freedom through inspiring social learning communities.

The Content Marketing Manager is responsible for growing the Pianote Blog (The Note) into the #1 piano blog online. Your role is to create super engaging content to attract and retain students to The Note.

If you know the difference between time signatures as well as the correct use of “its”, then we need to hear from you!

Compensation will be based on experience. We also offer paid vacation time, flexible hours, sick/personal days, and a benefits package after a probation period. This is a full-time position with flexibility to work remotely. Our offices are located in Abbotsford, BC.

Responsibilities:
Working with the Pianote Marketing Director to:

  • Grow the online presence of Pianote through our music education blog, The Note.
  • Design content strategies and set goals that align with the marketing and promotional objectives of the brand.
  • Pitch, research, write, and edit articles that people want to read, and that piano learners are actively searching for.
  • Create an editorial calendar and meet deadlines.
  • Work with the Creative Team to produce super-engaging, high-quality content that is not only educational, but also entertaining.
  • Ensure The Note meets all best practices for SEO, and use Google Analytics to identify areas for improvement and optimization.

Key skills:

  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with particular attention to typos and grammar.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with WordPress.
  • Excellent project and workflow management.
  • Music theory knowledge as it relates to the piano (you gotta know what you’re writing about).
  • Excellent knowledge of SEO best practices and current marketing trends.
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics and how to use data-driven insights to increase visitors to the blog.
  • Willingness to learn & push yourself to be better.

Nice to haves (bonus points):

  • A bachelor’s degree in English, Literature, Journalism, Marketing, Music, or any other relevant field.
  • Experience writing for a music blog or publication.
  • Experience in graphic design or web design.
  • Knowledge of HTML.

About you:
You love to write, and you do it to a professional level. Your friends think you’re weird because you always use the correct version of “your” in text messages. But really, you know you’re the normal one. The piano is part of your life, and an instrument you love. You get excited by the thought of writing about music, interviewing world-class musicians, and being part of a company that’s trying to teach the world how to play the piano.

How to apply:
If you’re ready to combine your passion for the piano with your professional writing skills, then we need to hear from you! Applications must be sent by email (don’t apply in person). Along with your resume, please include a cover letter telling us which Pianote video or blog post is your favorite and why. Please also include examples of your work (if you have some).
